We are a student-led initiative which collaborate with a number of not-for-profit/non-governmental organisations (NGO) to offer opportunities for Monash students to volunteer and serve the community and the underprivileged.

It’s a chance for you to pick up new skills, develop yourself, meet new people and improve lives!

For Semester 1 2021, due to the limitations caused by the pandemic, all volunteering sessions will be conducted online. Hence, have been limited to educational and teaching volunteering. 

HOPE Worldwide – Providing assistance in the revision and teaching of underprivileged children and teens in Mathematics and English. Fluency in Bahasa Malaysia is preferred if teaching Mathematics. 

UNHCR Manna House – Teach refugee children basic subjects such as English, Maths and Science.

Trinity Community Children Home – Help the children with their homework, teach a variety of subjects, as well as to staff. Fluency in Bahasa Malaysia is preferred.

You will receive an email after signing up, informing you whether you’ve secured a spot for yourself.

Yes. You may choose your NGO according to your schedule and your preference.

Please note that we allocate on a first come first serve basis and subject to availability. Some NGOs are more popular and we usually give priority to those who had signed up earlier and requested for it. No changes are allowed unless you have timetable clash (proof is required). 

Yes. You may reject the offer letter sent to you.

8 to 9 sessions, once a week for 1-2 hours for most NGOs (some NGOs might vary in number of sessions but not more than 9).

No session for ALL NGOs during mid semester break and please be mindful of the dates you have volunteering.

Absence without valid reason is NOT ALLOWED. If you’re unwell, have replacement class, leadership camp or participating in a competition, valid proof of absence is required. (i.e. medical certificate, letter from lecturer and/or other supporting documents). Reasons such as overslept, assignments, vacation and going back to your hometown are NOT tolerated.

You will receive a warning letter from our president and staff advisor if the reason is not valid. Or you will be blacklisted from volunteering with MUVP.

If you think you cannot commit, please do not sign up. Volunteers who drop out halfway will be blacklisted from joining the following semester and will receive a blacklisted letter.

Yes, if it is for the same NGO but this is only on specific cases.

The membership fee of RM10 is waived for Semester 1, 2021 since it is fully online. 

No, it is only for one semester. Should you wish to join again next semester, you need to sign up at the start of each semester.

Preferably yes but not necessary.

Unfortunately due to our current situation, we will not be doing T-shirt sales for Semester 1, 2021. 

Please dress modestly and appropriately. (no revealing tops/sleeveless/skirt/at least knee length pants).

No. You will stick with the same NGO throughout the entire semester.

Zoom. However, this is subjected to change according to the NGO person-in-charge.

If you have successfully completed volunteering with compliance to our rules regarding volunteer session attendance, you will be awarded an E-Certificate.
